01 / THE ROLE, CLEARLY DEFINED

Keep the record current.
Follow the right cycle.

An annual report or similar periodic statement updates information held by a state. The name, schedule and required details vary by jurisdiction and entity type. Some filings are biennial, and some taxes or information reports follow a different process. There is no single nationwide annual-report deadline.

California Secretary of State: annual and biennial requirements

Voda’s company setup services are separate from its high-risk merchant account placement for hard-to-place and non-traditional businesses. Formation, banking and processing reviews have their own requirements.

  1. ACT 01 / CONTINUE

    The company continues.

A business keeps evolving after formation. The state record needs attention as well as the work behind it.

  2. ACT 02 / REVIEW

    The cycle comes around.

Identify the filing schedule for each entity and jurisdiction. An anniversary date is not a universal due date.

  3. ACT 03 / CONFIRM

    The details are checked.

Verify the required addresses, management information and agent details before submitting the appropriate report.

  4. ACT 04 / RECORD

    Keep the evidence.

Save filing acknowledgments and plan the next review. A report does not replace separate tax or licensing obligations.

THE RECURRING LOOP

Review. Confirm.
File. Keep the record.

A preparation cycle, not a due-date calculator. Confirm your actual filing requirements with the relevant authority.

01

Find the obligation.

Start with the entity type, state record and filing history. Confirm whether the requirement is annual, biennial or another schedule.

02

Review the details.

Check the information requested by the form. Outdated management or address information should not be copied forward without review.

03

Submit correctly.

Confirm the government charge, service fee and submission authority. State acceptance is distinct from preparing a draft.

04

Keep the receipt.

Retain the acknowledgment and update your compliance calendar. Separately identify franchise taxes, returns and license renewals.

THE SAME BUSINESS CAN HAVE SEVERAL CALENDARS

One report doesn’t
cover every obligation.

Entity report: confirm the information statement required by the state and your entity type.

Build a record of all three: entity reports, tax obligations and license renewals. Review each schedule separately with the appropriate authority or adviser.

Call (737) 775-5066
Does every company file an annual report?

No. Requirements differ by state and entity type. Some periodic statements are biennial; some entities have a tax obligation without the same annual-report form. Confirm the actual requirement.

Is an annual report the same as a tax return?

Generally they serve different purposes, even where a state combines certain processes. Do not assume a state entity report satisfies federal or state tax filing requirements.

Can you tell me my deadline from this page?

No deadline is calculated here. Voda will need the entity, jurisdictions and filing history to discuss the relevant requirements. Verify the current state record and official schedule.

What if my report is already late?

Share the notices and entity status. Late fees, suspension, reinstatement or other steps may apply under state rules. A normal filing service does not guarantee restoration of good standing.

Are reminders and government fees included?

Confirm the service agreement. Filing preparation, submission, reminders, state fees and tax advice should be itemized rather than assumed to be part of one service.

Should I respond to every annual-report letter I receive?

Check the sender and compare the request with official state information before paying. Some solicitations are offers of private assistance rather than government bills.
